I’m one of those people: the ones with a half-written novel molding in a desk drawer.

We are many.

I’ve been part of this society for years, starting fiction projects and stopping them while I attended to other business. But I want out. I want to join a more exclusive club, made up of people who have a novel with a beginning, a middle, and an end. The whole enchilada.

Lucky for me, I’m now being chased by a very real and terrifying due date. I’m turning 40 in 2013. That’s the deadline I’ve set for myself: I will, I can, I must have my project finished before I turn 40.

That’s why I’m making this little journal public: to keep myself accountable.

This won’t be an SEO-optimized blog that provides inspiration and insight to writers everywhere; rather, I want it to be a place where I can post updates and thoughts as I go. A set of very personal breadcrumbs that I can use to re-trace my creative process.

My title of my book is GONE MAD, so that’s what I’m calling this blog.

It’s strangely appropriate, in the circumstances.

If you’d like to get in touch, you can reach me at jenniferjeffreywrites [at] gmail [dot] com, but I can’t promise a swift reply. You know why. 😉
